A RESOLUTION1 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the2 death of Corey Eugene Gueho.3 WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the members of the Senate of the Legislature4 of Louisiana have learned of the untimely death of Corey Eugene Gueho on September 9,5 2013, at age thirty-two; and6 WHEREAS, a native and resident of Fordoche, Louisiana, he was a court room7 security deputy with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office; and8 WHEREAS, Corey Gueho was preceded in death by twin brother, Cody Gueho,9 maternal grandparents, Lois and Eugene Allen, and paternal grandparents Fred Sr. and Delta10 B. Gueho; and11 WHEREAS, he was diagnosed with leukemia, a disease he was familiar with having12 lost his twin brother, Cody, to it eighteen years earlier; and13 WHEREAS, after his twin brother was diagnosed with leukemia, Corey Gueho began14 organizing fund raisers in 1995 raising approximately ten thousand dollars each year for the15 past thirteen years with the majority of the money being donated to St. Jude Children's16 Hospital in memory of Cody as well as to local cancer patients and the Janell Lacombe17 Fund; and 18 SR NO. 163 SLS 14RS-3704 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, he also took children, who were cancer patients, on hunting trips and1 would volunteer to assist others with fund raisers in the community, for any reason,2 especially those for cancer victims; and 3 WHEREAS, Corey Gueho was an avid hunter, dedicated LSU and New Orleans4 Saints fan, and a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend; and 5 WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife of ten years, Chrissy D. Gueho; one year old6 son, Carson Cody Gueho; parents, Fred and Kathy Gueho; father-in-law Danny David; sister,7 Crystal Gueho Lorio and husband Michael; brother, Chris (Popsicle) Gueho and wife Stacie;8 nieces, Erica Gabor, Maddie Lorio, Mallory Bonaventure, and Harper White; nephews,9 Mikey Lorio, Jacob Gabor, Derek Gabor, and Matthew Lorio; cousin, Ronnie Bonaventure10 Jr., and numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends; and 11 WHEREAS, Corey Gueho was described as a big man with a bigger heart, a true12 gentleman, a people person, and a fine young man whose family meant everything to him;13 and14 WHEREAS, the death of Corey Eugene Gueho has left a great void and created a15 genuine sense of sorrow in his family, his friends, and all who had the opportunity to know16 him.17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana18 does hereby express sincere condolences upon the death of Corey Eugene Gueho, does19 hereby recognize and record for posterity his accomplishments and singular contributions,20 and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor that this extraordinary21 man will forever bring to his family and friends, community, and state.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to23 Chrissy D.
