SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 192
BY SENATOR ALARIO 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends James Claitor on his outstanding accomplishments in
wrestling at Catholic High School.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate James Claitor for his outstanding accomplishments in high2
school wrestling.3
WHEREAS, James Claitor, the son of Sharmaine and Senator Dan Claitor, is a recent4
graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he was an outstanding5
member of the Catholic High School wrestling team; and6
WHEREAS, he posted a 35-3 record in his senior year and an overall 166 wins and7
only 12 losses in his high school career, ranking third all-time in wins at Catholic High8
School; and9
WHEREAS, James Claitor was twice selected as the Metro Most Valuable Player10
and was a two time Metro Champion, winning in the 138 pound class as a junior and in the11
145 pound class as a senior; and12
WHEREAS, James Claitor won two individual state wrestling titles, in 2013 and in13
2014 and, along with being a top finisher, served as a team captain and senior leader; and14
WHEREAS, he competed in the Virginia Beach National placing fifth in the nation15
and was named an Honorable Mention High School All-American by Wrestling USA16
Magazine, becoming the eighth All-American in Catholic High School history; and17
WHEREAS, James Claitor will be attending California Polytechnic State University18 SR NO. 192

in San Luis Obispo, California and has signed to wrestle for the Pac-12 Conference CalPoly1
Mustangs, becoming the first Catholic High School wrestler to sign with an NCAA2
Division I university; and3
WHEREAS, James Claitor merits the utmost respect for his outstanding4
accomplishments and for the tremendous honor and pride that he brings to his family,5
friends, community, and the state of Louisiana.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana7
does hereby commend James Claitor for his outstanding accomplishments in wrestling at8
Catholic High School and does extend best wishes on his future endeavors.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to10
James Claitor.11
