SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 202
BY SENATOR BROOME 
SENATE. Expresses the support of the Senate for the mission of the Wilson Global
Initiative.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the support of the Senate for the mission of the Wilson Global Initiative and its2
founder, Chance Wilson.3
WHEREAS, Chance Wilson is a fourteen year old eighth grader at Westdale Middle4
School in Baton Rouge; and5
WHEREAS, Chance is determined to start his own 501c(3) nonprofit corporation6
with a global purpose; and7
WHEREAS, Chance has wisely turned to educators at his school and to local8
political and civic leaders seeking their advice and counsel in achieving his goals; and9
WHEREAS, the focus of the Wilson Global Initiative is advocating for and10
eventually helping to produce education reform around the world; and11
WHEREAS, Chance is not deterred by his age and lack of knowledge of economic12
and legal issues, rather he has a keen interest in changing the world and has taken his13
message to civic leaders and politicians, seeking those with expertise beyond his grasp as14
an eighth grader; and15
WHEREAS, one of Chance's main concerns is that the United States is facing unique16
challenges and he believes that the greatest strength of America, its ability to innovate, is key17
to surmounting the issues confronting the twenty-first century republic; and18 SR NO. 202

WHEREAS, Chance plans to be a part of that innovative approach to dealing with1
the issues of today, particularly global educational challenges, putting his imagination into2
action through his envisioned Chance Wilson Company and its nonprofit subsidiary, the3
Wilson Global Initiative; and4
WHEREAS, Chance has built on this vision to bring education innovation to areas5
of the world in need of assistance in educating young people; he has remained true to his6
idea of innovation; and he has sought people in the Baton Rouge community who can help7
develop in him the skills that will be needed to bring his dreams of the Chance Wilson8
Company and the Wilson Global Initiative to fruition.9
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana10
does hereby express its support for the mission of the Wilson Global Initiative and its11
founder, Chance A. Wilson.12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to13
Chance A. Wilson of Baton Rouge.14
