SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 207
BY SENATOR MURRAY 
CONDOLENCES.  Expresses condolences to the family of Johnnie "Coach" Williams.
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the2
family of Johnnie "Coach" Williams, a native of Simmesport, Louisiana, and a3
resident of New Orleans, Louisiana.4
WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams or "Big Will", as he was affectionately called5
by his students, players and extended family, was the father of Jon Glynn Williams,6
Cornell Davage Williams, and Corice Dorosa Williams; and7
WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams was the grandfather of Alisha Christine8
Pagano; and 9
WHEREAS, he was the great-grandfather of Leah Christine Pagano and Devin10
Ramon Pagano; and 11
WHEREAS, he was the brother-in-law of Dorothy A. Glynn Cager and Larry Cager,12
Sr., first cousin of Yvonne C. Webster, Thomas Cooper, Jr., and the late Robert "Bobbee"13
Cooper; and14
WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams was preceded in death by mother Dorothy15
A. Williams, Elizabeth Brown (maternal aunt), Georgia Cooper (maternal aunt), and his16
beloved wife Shirley Christine Glynn Williams; and17
WHEREAS, he will be missed by all the members of the community he educated18 SR NO. 207

whether formally or informally and by his favorite dog, Nola Roux; and 1
WHEREAS, Johnnie "Coach" Williams will be missed by the friends who loved to2
hear his laughter and gift of gab but most of all he will be missed, revered, and loved3
eternally by those who loved him the most, his children.4
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana5
does hereby offers its condolences, on behalf of its members, present and past, and on behalf6
of the citizens of the state, to the family of Johnnie "Coach" Williams.7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the8
family of Johnnie "Coach" Williams.9
