SENATE. Recognizes March 29, 2014, as Livingston Parish's "Own Your Own Health"
Day.
A RESOLUTION1
To recognize March 29, 2014, as Livingston Parish's "Own Your Own Health" Day and2
encourage the residents of Livingston Parish to join the Livingston Parish legislative3
delegation at three o'clock in the afternoon at North Park in Denham Springs, Pond4
Pavilion, to celebrate a commitment to physical health and improving the health and5
well-being of the residents of Livingston Parish.6
WHEREAS, the parish of Livingston is one of the fastest growing parishes in the7
state; and8
WHEREAS, the residents of Livingston are proud of their community, schools, and9
thriving business development; and10
WHEREAS, at the core of a strong community is a healthy population; and11
WHEREAS, the residents of Livingston Parish are launching a healthy living12
challenge as part of the Department of Health and Hospitals and the Governor's Council on13
Physical Fitness and Sports' "Own Your Own Health" online fitness and nutrition tracking14
challenge; and15
WHEREAS, part of this challenge is to track your daily steps and record online how16
many steps you have taken towards your goal of achieving a lifestyle of consistent physical17

WHEREAS, the challenge commences on Saturday, March twenty-ninth at three1
o'clock in the afternoon with a half mile fun walk, zumbathon, booths, music, games, and2
prizes. 3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana4
does hereby recognize March 29, 2014, as Livingston Parish's "Own Your Own Health" Day5
and encourage the residents of Livingston Parish to join the Livingston Parish legislative6
delegation at three o'clock in the afternoon at North Park in Denham Springs, Pond Pavilion,7
to celebrate a commitment to physical health and improving the health and well-being of the8
residents of Livingston Parish.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the10
members of the Livingston Parish legislative delegation.11
