SENATE. Recognizes Thursday, May 1, 2014, as Lemonade Day for Ruston Elementary
School in Ruston, Louisiana.
A RESOLUTION1
To recognize Thursday, May 1, 2014, as Lemonade Day for Ruston Elementary School in2
Ruston, Louisiana.3
WHEREAS, Lemonade Day Louisiana is a free, community-wide program that4
fosters entrepreneurship and character development among Louisiana's youth by supporting5
them in establishing and operating their own lemonade businesses; and6
WHEREAS, Lemonade Day Louisiana was founded in 2010 by John Georges and7
Todd Graves and has grown tremendously over the last few years; and8
WHEREAS, over ten thousand youth across Louisiana participate in Lemonade Day9
Louisiana; and10
WHEREAS, young entrepreneurs are encouraged to donate a portion of their11
proceeds to charity through the sales at lemonade stands and citizens are encouraged to12
purchase lemonade from the stands; and13
WHEREAS, Lemonade Day Louisiana is sponsored by many major businesses and14
companies throughout the state, including Raising Canes, Chevron, Liberty Bank, Century15
Link, and United Healthcare; and16
WHEREAS, Louisiana is one of over forty regions in the United States and Canada17
to participate in Lemonade Day.18 SR NO. 86

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana1
does hereby recognize Thursday, May 1, 2014, as Lemonade Day for Ruston Elementary2
School in Ruston, Louisiana.3
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the4
principal of Ruston Elementary School.5
