Abstract:  Authorizes an increase in fees from $100 to $125 to be set by judges in the 24
th
 JDC on
all persons convicted of misdemeanor and felony offenses.
Present law provides for an additional fee not to exceed $100 on all persons convicted in the 24
th
JDC of felony or misdemeanor offenses to be set by the judges sitting en banc.
Present law prohibits the assessment of additional fees on convictions for traffic violations or
ordinances adopted by the Jefferson Parish governing authority.
  
Proposed law retains present law and changes the fee authorized for collection from $100 to $125.
Present law prohibits the total amount of the financial penalty for misdemeanor offenders, including
the fee imposed under present law, from exceeding $1,000. 
Proposed law retains present law.
