Existing law provides for an additional fee on all persons convicted in the 24th JDC of felony
or misdemeanor offenses to be set by the judges sitting en banc.
Existing law prohibits the assessment of additional fees on convictions for traffic violations
or ordinances adopted by the Jefferson Parish governing authority.
Prior law provided that this fee shall not exceed $100.
New law changes the maximum fee authorized for collection from $100 to $125.
Existing law prohibits the total amount of the financial penalty for misdemeanor offenders,
including the fee imposed under new law, from exceeding $1,000.
Effective August 1, 2015.
