[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 111 Original 2015 Regular Session Adams Abstract: Provides relative to the definition of "fireman" with respect to provisions pertaining to minimum wages and maximum hours. Present law provides with respect to wages, hours, sick leave, and vacation for firemen and other employees of fire departments. Present law defines "fireman" to include all persons employed or engaged full-time by municipalities or municipal fire departments, parishes or parish fire departments, or fire protection districts for firefighting, or fire prevention duties and services. Proposed law adds persons employed for fire investigation, fire protection, and emergency duties and services to definition. Also adds persons employed to provide training concerning firefighting, fire prevention, fire investigation, fire protection, or emergency duties or services. (Amends R.S. 33:1991(A)(1))
