Abstract:  Changes the time for the opening of the polls and the office of the registrar from 6 a.m.
to 7 a.m. on election days when a regularly scheduled congressional primary election is held.
Present law (R.S. 18:541) provides that the polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on election day. 
Present law (R.S. 18:134) provides that on election days, the principal office of the registrar of voters
must remain open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law provides that for regularly scheduled congressional primary elections and elections held
at the same time, the polls and the principal office of the registrar open at 6 a.m. on election day
instead of 7 a.m.
Proposed law repeals present law.
