RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 181 (HB 120) 2015 Regular Session Shadoin Existing law provides that any person who resides in a parish with a population of less than 40,000 and who passes the uniform statewide examination, except for any performance assessment component, may be provisionally appointed to the office of notary public in and for that parish upon fulfillment of all requirements provided by law and upon meeting all other qualifications necessary to be appointed to the office of notary public in this state. Prior law applied existing law to examinations administered after Jan. 1, 2013, and before Aug. 1, 2016. New law extends the examination period for those who pass the examination from before Aug. 1, 2016, to before Aug. 1, 2017. Effective August 1, 2015. (Amends R.S. 35:191(W)(1)(b) and (9)) Page 1 of 1
