FUNDS/FUNDING: Changes the uses and recipients of monies from the Winn Parish
Tourism Fund
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 47:302.16(B), relative to the Winn Parish Tourism Fund; to
3 change the authorized uses of monies in the fund; to change the recipients of the
4 monies from the fund; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related
5 matters.
6 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
7 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
8 Louisiana.
9Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1. R.S. 47:302.16(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:

13 B. Eighty percent of the The monies in the Winn Parish Tourism Fund shall
14 be appropriated each fiscal year by the legislature to the Winnfield Museum Board.
15 Greater Winn Parish Development Corporation for the Louisiana Political Museum
16 and Hall of Fame and twenty percent shall be appropriated to the Winn Chamber of
17 Commerce and Tourism to support tourism and economic development in Winn
18 Parish. All unexpended and unencumbered monies in the fund shall remain in the
19 fund. The monies in the fund shall be invested by the treasurer in the same manner

1 as the monies in the state general fund, and all interest earned shall be deposited into
2 the fund.
3 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2015; if vetoed by the governor
4and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
52015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.

Abstract: Requires 80% of the monies in the Winn Parish Tourism Fund to be appropriated
to the Greater Winn Parish Development Corporation for the La. Political Museum
Hall of Fame and 20% to be appropriated to the Winn Chamber of Commerce and
Tourism.
Present law requires state sales tax on hotel rooms collected in Winn Parish to be deposited
into the Winn Parish Tourism Fund to be appropriated by the legislature to the Winnfield
Museum Board.
Proposed law deletes references to the Winnfield Museum Board and requires that 80% of
the monies be appropriated to the Greater Winn Parish Development Corporation for the La.
Political Museum and Hall of Fame and 20% of the monies to be appropriated to the Winn
Chamber of Commerce and Tourism to support tourism and economic development in Winn
Parish.
Effective July 1, 2015.
