DISTRICTS/WATERWORKS: Provides relative to Cameron Parish Waterworks District
No. 10
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 33:3819(J), relative to Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10; to provide
3 with respect to the per diem paid to members of the board of commissioners; and to
4 provide for related matters.
5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
6 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
7 Louisiana.
8Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 33:3819(J) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
10 ยง3819. Meetings of commissioners; meeting place; absences; compensation
11 * * *
12 J. Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection A of this Section, the
13 governing authority of Cameron Parish may authorize the treasurer of the Cameron
14 Parish Waterworks District No. 10 to pay the commissioners of the district a per
15 diem not to exceed one hundred dollars for attending meetings of the board.

Abstract: Increases the maximum per diem for commissioners of the Cameron Parish
Waterworks District No. 10.
Present law authorizes parishes to create waterworks districts, which have control of water
systems in the respective districts. Provides for meetings of the board of commissioners of
any such district.
Present law authorizes a per diem of up to $60 for waterworks district commissioners for
attendance at meetings for up to 24 regular meetings and 12 special meetings each year.
Proposed law increases to $100 the maximum per diem for the commissioners of Cameron
Parish Waterworks District No. 10.
