APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Samuel D. Weaver and Susan Weaver, Individually and on Behalf of the
Minor Children, Samantha and Luke Weaver v. State of Louisiana through the
DOTD"
1 AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-
3 2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Samuel D. Weaver
4 and Susan Weaver, Individually and on Behalf of the Minor Children, Samantha and
5 Luke Weaver v. State of Louisiana through the Department of Transportation and
6 Development"; and to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. The sum of Two Hundred Forty Thousand and No/100 ($240,000.00)
9Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal
10Year 2015-2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Samuel D.
11Weaver and Susan Weaver, Individually and on Behalf of the Minor Children, Samantha and
12Luke Weaver v. State of Louisiana through the Department of Transportation and
13Development", bearing Number 114874 on the docket of the Seventeenth Judicial District
14Court, parish of Lafourche, state of Louisiana.
15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2015; if vetoed by the governor
16and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
172015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
