HOUSE BILL NO. 164
BY REPRESENTATIVE THIBAUT
APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Jeffrey and Lillie Christopher, et al v. The State of La., through the
DOTD, et al"
1	AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-
3 2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Jeffrey and Lillie
4 Christopher Individually and on Behalf of their Minor Child Tiffany Christopher v.
5 The State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and Development,
6 James "Buddy" Caldwell, and the City of Plaquemine Parish/Parish of Iberville"; and
7 to provide for related matters.
8Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1.  The sum of One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand and No/100
10($175,000.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of
11Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit
12entitled "Jeffrey and Lillie Christopher Individually and on Behalf of their Minor Child
13Tiffany Christopher v. The State of Louisiana through the Department of Transportation and
14Development, James "Buddy" Caldwell, and the City of Plaquemine Parish/Parish of
15Iberville", bearing Number 67,202, Division "C" on the docket of the 18
th
 Judicial District
16Court, parish of Iberville, state of Louisiana.
17 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2015; if vetoed by the governor
18and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
192015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
