ACT 99 (HB 170) 2015 Regular Session Hollis
Existing law requires a surety bond for each private driving school and for that bond to name
the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor vehicles, as the obligee and
authorizes recovery of driving school fees by claims filed through the department against the
bond. Provides that if a driving school has multiple locations, only one bond is required.
New law retains existing law.
Prior law required each surety bond be in the sum of $40,000.
New law decreases the required surety bond sum from $40,000 to $20,000.
