Abstract:  Dedicates $300,000 from the Conservation Fund to weevil production for control of giant
salvinia  in Lake Bistineau.
Proposed law dedicates an amount not to exceed $95,000 annually from the Conservation Fund for
weevil production for control of giant salvinia in Lake Bistineau until a total of $300,000 has been
dedicated.  Creates the Lake Bistineau Management Account in the Conservation Fund and deposits
the dedication into the account. 
 
Proposed law further requires appropriation of the monies in the account to the Dept. of Wildlife and
Fisheries for weevil production for control of giant salvinia in Lake Bistineau.
Proposed law requires the construction of a research facility on Lake Bistineau before monies will
be dedicated or appropriated for control of giant salvinia in Lake Bistineau.   
Proposed law requires approval by the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment
and the Senate Committee on Natural Resources each year of the plan for expenditure of monies
appropriated from the account.
Proposed law terminates and becomes null and void when $300,000 has been expended by the Dept.
of Wildlife and Fisheries from the account for control of giant salvinia in Lake Bistineau. 
Effective July 1, 2015.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Appropriations to the original
bill:
1. Require the construction of a research facility on Lake Bistineau before monies are
dedicated or appropriated for the production of weevil for control of giant salvinia in
Lake Bistineau.
2. Change the dedication from $300,000 annually to an amount not to exceed $95,000
annually until a total of $300,000 has been deposited into the Lake Bistineau Management Account in the Conservation Fund.
3. Change the source of the dedication from the state's mineral income from activity on
certain  water bottoms of Lake Bistineau to the Conservation Fund.
4. Change the deposit of interest earned on the Lake Bistineau Management Account from
the Lake Bistineau Management Account to the Conservation Fund. 
5. Change the termination of proposed law from July 1, 2017, to the expenditure of
$300,000 by the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries for control of giant salvinia in Lake
Bistineau from monies deposited into the Lake Bistineau Management Account in the
Conservation Fund.
