                    RÉSUMÉ DIGEST
ACT 194 (HB 231) 2015 Regular Session	Thierry
Prior law authorized the court reporters in the 27th JDC to charge and collect as
compensation in addition to salary, a fee of $2.50 per page for the original and 50¢ per page
for copies reported and transcribed in all civil and criminal cases.
New law increases the collected fees from $2.50 to $3.50.
Prior law required court reporters to be paid a fee of $2.25 per 31-line page transcript and
25¢ per page for each copy, as funds become available, to be paid from the criminal indigent
transcript fund by the court.
New law increases the collected fees from $2.25 to $3.50.
New law provides for the increase in court costs to become effective if and when the Judicial
Council reviews such request and makes a recommendation to the legislature in its 2016
report that costs meet the applicable guidelines.
Effective August 1, 2015.
(Amends R.S. 13:971(B)(1)(a), (2), and (7))
