Abstract:  Changes the jurisdictional amount in dispute in the city courts of Minden and Springhill
from $35,000 to $50,000.
Present law provides that in the city courts of Abbeville, Baker, Baton Rouge, Kaplan, Leesville,
Minden, Plaquemine, Shreveport, Springhill, and Zachary, the civil jurisdiction is concurrent with
the district court in cases where the amount in dispute, or the value of the property involved, does
not exceed $35,000.
Proposed law changes the jurisdictional amount in dispute for the city courts of Minden and
Springhill from $35,000 to $50,000.
