Abstract: Provides with respect to the sale of fireworks.
Present law allows the sale of fireworks from June 25 through July 5 and from Dec. 15 through Jan.
1 of each year.
Proposed law changes the start date for the sale of fireworks from June 25 to June 16 and otherwise
retains present law.
Present law requires that in order to sell, construct, or manufacture fireworks, a retailer or
manufacturer must first obtain a retailer permit from the state fire marshal.  
Present law prohibits the issuance of retailer permits from June 25 through July 5 and from Dec. 15
through Jan. 1 of each year.  
Proposed law changes the dates of present law and prohibits the issuance of retailer permits from
June 16 through July 5.  Otherwise retains present law.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Commerce to the original bill:
1. Restore provisions of present law applicable to retailer permit fees.
2. Restore the definition of "resident" as defined in present law.
