Current law restricts the purchase of commercial crab gear licenses to those who either held
such licenses during any two license years between 2011 and 2014 or to people who have
completed the program for the development of professionalism in the crab industry.
New law adds another eligible group of people – people who held a wholesale/retail seafood
dealer's license and can document crab landings during any two years between 2011 and
2014.
Effective Aug. 1, 2015.
