Louisiana House Bill HB34 Comm Sub / Analysis

                    RÉSUMÉ DIGEST
ACT 283 (HB 34) 2015 Regular Session	Dove
Existing law provides for a minimum number of assistant district attorneys in each judicial
district and in the parish of Orleans, and further provides for a fixed total salary amount per
assistant district attorney.
Existing law provides that, notwithstanding the minimum number of assistant district
attorneys permitted under existing law in Orleans Parish, the 19th Judicial District, and the
23rd Judicial District, the district attorney for those districts may reallocate by combining or
dividing the fixed total amount of annual salary permitted to be paid to all assistant district
attorneys in that jurisdiction in any lawful manner the district attorney deems appropriate.
New law retains existing law and expands authority to the district attorney for the 32nd
Judicial District to allow for reallocation of the salaries.
Effective August 1, 2015.
