RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 284 (HB 35) 2015 Regular Session Hollis New law creates the "Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal" license plate for recipients of the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and provides for the use, name, fee, design, and specifications of the specialty plate. New law provides the license plate shall be issued, upon application, of any person showing reasonable proof that he is a recipient of the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. New law requires the department to collect a standard motor vehicle license tax imposed by Article VII, Section 5 of the Constitution of Louisiana and a handling fee of $3.50 for each plate to be retained by the department to offset a portion of administrative costs. New law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to develop and adopt rules relative to the implementation of the specialty plate including the transfer of the license plate to the surviving spouse and the disposition of the specialty plate.
