[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 351 Original 2015 Regular Session LeBas Abstract: Applies to health insurance plans offered by the Office of Group Benefits the prohibition on requiring employees or retirees to obtain prescription drugs from a mail order pharmacy as a condition of receiving payment for such drugs, or imposing a copayment fee not imposed upon employees or retirees who utilize the designated mail order pharmacy. Present law prohibits employers providing pharmacy services in an employer-provided health plan from requiring employees or retirees to obtain prescription drugs from a mail order pharmacy as a condition of receiving payment for such drugs, or from imposing a copayment fee or other condition not imposed upon employees or retirees who utilize the designated mail order pharmacy. Proposed law retains present law and applies it to health plans provided to state employees by the Office of Group Benefits or any other approved plans offered to state employees or members of the legislature.
