Prior law required behavioral health services providers to be licensed by the Dept. of Health
and Hospitals.
New law adds an exemption for providers operating for the sole purpose of furnishing
substance abuse or mental health services to courts certified by the La. Supreme Court as
specialty courts.
Effective upon signature of governor (May 29, 2015).
