Abstract:  Provides for an increase in court costs or fees for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court's
judicial expense fund from $15 to $35 in civil cases and from $5 to $25 in criminal cases.
Present law requires the clerk for the 16
th
 JDC to collect additional fees as determined by the judges
sitting en banc, not to exceed $15 from every person filing any type of civil suit or proceeding and
a fee not to exceed $5 against every defendant who is convicted after trial or after he pleads guilty
or who forfeits bond.
Proposed law retains present law but increases the fee limits from $15 to $35 in the civil cases and
from $5 to $25 in all criminal cases.
