R.S. 37:1270(D) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 9 ยง1270. Duties and powers of the board; limitation 10 * * * 11 D. Nothing in this Part shall be construed to authorize the board to limit the 12 right of a physician and an advanced practice registered nurse to engage in a 13 collaborative practice agreement as provided in R.S. 37:913. 14 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 15signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 16by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 17vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 18effective on the day following such approval. State Board of Medical Examiners from limiting the right of nurses and physicians to enter into such agreements. Present law provides for duties and powers of the La. State Board of Medical Examiners (board). Proposed law retains present law and adds a provision stipulating that nothing in present law shall be construed to authorize the board to limit the right of a physician and an advanced practice registered nurse to engage in a collaborative practice agreement as provided in present law, R.S. 37:913. Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
