RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 345 (HB 601) 2015 Regular Session Hollis Existing law provides for a Public Service Commission consisting of 5 members elected from single-member districts established by law. Requires members to be elected at congressional elections for overlapping terms of 6 years. Additionally requires members to be qualified electors and to take office and begin their terms on the first day of January following election. New law adds that to be eligible for election to the commission, a candidate must at the time of qualification satisfy the following requirements: (1)Attained the age of 18 years. (2)Resided in the state for the preceding 2 years. (3)Been actually domiciled for the preceding year in the district from which he seeks election. Effective August 1, 2015. (Amends R.S. 45:1161.1)
