HB 699 Original	2015 Regular Session	Abramson
Abstract:  Creates the "300th Anniversary of the City of New Orleans" special prestige license
plate.  Provides for fees, distribution of fees, issuance, creation, and design of the license
plate and promulgation of rules.
Proposed law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to issue special
prestige license plates to be known as the "300th Anniversary of the City of New Orleans" license
plate.
Proposed law provides the license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any citizen of Louisiana
in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law requires the department to collect an annual royalty fee of $15, as well as a handling
fee of $3.50 for each plate to be retained by the department to offset a portion of administrative costs.
Proposed law requires the monies collected by the department be forwarded to the 2018 NOLA
Foundation or its successor organization.  Specifies that the balance be used solely for public
purposes, including planning events surrounding the 300th anniversary of the City of New Orleans.
