APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Angela Harris, et al v. State of Louisiana, DOTD"
1 AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-
3 2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in favor of Angela Harris, now
4 Stephenson, individually and on behalf of the minor, James Zachery Harris, in the
5 suit entitled "Angela Harris, et al v. State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation
6 and Development"; and to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. The sum of One Hundred Fifty Thousand and No/100 ($150,000.00)
9Dollars in favor of Angela Harris, now Stephenson, individually and on behalf of the minor,
10James Zachery Harris, is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of
11Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit
12entitled "Angela Harris, et al v. State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation and
13Development", bearing Number 26989 on the docket of the 37th Judicial District Court,
14parish of Caldwell, state of Louisiana.
15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2015; if vetoed by the governor
16and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
172015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
