HOUSE BILL NO. 818

APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the DOTD in the matter of "Amanda Abney, et al v. Stephanie L. Smith, et al."
1 AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2015-
3 2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Amanda Abney, et
4 al. v. Stephanie Smith, et al."; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. The sum of Twenty-Five Thousand and No/100 ($25,000.00) Dollars in
7favor of Joseph D. Bradley, as Bankruptcy Trustee for the bankruptcy estate of the plaintiff,
8William Abney, is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for
9Fiscal Year 2015-2016 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Amanda
10Abney, et al. v. Stephanie Smith, et al.", bearing Number 2001-10554, Division "C", on the
11docket of the 22nd Judicial District Court, parish of St. Tammany, state of Louisiana.
12 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2015; if vetoed by the governor
13and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
142015, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
