DISTRICTS/ECONOMIC DEVEL: Provides relative to the Greenwell Springs-Airline
Economic Development District in East Baton Rouge Parish
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 33:2740.67(A) and (B), relative to the Greenwell Springs-Airline
3 Economic Development District in East Baton Rouge Parish; to change the name and
4 the boundaries of the district; and to provide for related matters.
5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
6 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
7 Louisiana.
8Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 33:2740.67(A) and (B) are hereby amended and reenacted to read
10as follows:
11 ยง2740.67. Greenwell Springs-Airline Baton Rouge North Economic Development
12 District
13 A. Creation. The Greenwell Springs-Airline Baton Rouge North Economic
14 Development District, referred to in this Section as the "district", is hereby created
15 in the parish of East Baton Rouge. The district shall be a political subdivision of the
16 state created for the purpose of developing the area included within the district in
17 order to provide for substantial economic activity and employment opportunities.
18 B. Boundaries. The district shall include the area within the following
19 boundaries: beginning at the intersection of South Choctaw Drive and Scenic
20 Highway, north along Scenic Highway to its intersection with Harding Boulevard,

1 then east along Harding Boulevard to its intersection with Plank Road and Hooper
2 Road, continue east along Hooper Road to its intersection with Mickens Road, then
3 southeast along Mickens Road to its intersection with Joor Road, then south on Joor
4 Road to its intersection with Greenwell Springs Road, then northeast on Greenwell
5 Springs Road to its intersection with North Flannery Road, then south on North
6 Flannery Road to its intersection with South Choctaw Drive, then west along South
7 Choctaw Drive to the point of beginning North Twenty Second Street and Florida
8 Boulevard, east along Florida Boulevard to its intersection with North Sherwood
9 Forest Drive, then north along North Sherwood Forest Drive to its intersection with
10 Greenwell Springs Road, then southwest along Greenwell Springs Road to its
11 intersection with Joor Road, then north along Joor Road to its intersection with
12 Mickens Road, then west along Mickens Road to its intersection with Hooper Road,
13 then west along Hooper Road to its intersection with Harding Boulevard, continue
14 west along Harding Boulevard to its intersection with Scenic Highway, then south
15 along Scenic Highway to its intersection with Main Street, then east along Main
16 Street to its intersection with North Twenty Second Street, then south along North
17 Twenty Second Street to the point of beginning.

Abstract: Relative to the Greenwell Springs-Airline Economic Development District in
East Baton Rouge Parish, changes the name and the boundaries of the district.
Present law creates and provides for the Greenwell Springs-Airline Economic Development
District as a political subdivision in East Baton Rouge Parish for the purpose of developing
the area included within the district in order to provide for substantial economic activity and
employment opportunities. Provides that the district is governed by a nine-member board
of commissioners. Provides for district boundaries.
Proposed law changes the name of the district to the Baton Rouge North Economic
Development District. Additionally makes changes to the district's boundaries. Proposed
law otherwise retains present law.
