Abstract: Authorizes the Union Parish School Board to exchange unused school land, not including
sixteenth section land, for other land in Union Parish.
Proposed law authorizes the Union Parish School Board to exchange unused school land in Union
Parish, not including sixteenth section land, for other land in Union Parish. Relative to such an
exchange, proposed law:
(1)Requires the school board to hold a public hearing prior to the exchange and provides
relative to the notice regarding such hearing.
(2)Requires an appraisal of the land to be exchanged.
(3)Authorizes the approval of the exchange if a majority of the elected membership of the
school board determines that the exchange is for a valid purpose and is in the best interest
of the school board and that the lands to be exchanged are of comparable value.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
