HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 108

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Louisiana Association of Health Plans and to recognize Tuesday, May 5,
2015, as Louisiana Association of Health Plans Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana hereby commends the Louisiana
Association of Health Plans, referred to hereafter as "LAHP", for its good work in protecting
and promoting health in our state; and
WHEREAS, LAHP has been the trade association for the health insurance industry
in Louisiana since 1992; and
WHEREAS, comprised of just a small group of health plans initially, LAHP has
grown steadily and is now one of the most effective and respected trade associations in this
state; and
WHEREAS, LAHP has over one hundred member and partner organizations
representing a diverse array of companies, including health plans, preferred provider
organizations, third-party administrators, supplemental benefit plans, managed behavioral
health organizations, pharmaceutical companies, pharmacy benefit managers, law and
accounting firms, health care specialty providers, care management organizations, health
benefits consultants, and prescription drug plans; and
WHEREAS, the LAHP annual meeting and conference is one of the most widely
attended health industry events in the region; and
WHEREAS, LAHP promotes health and wellness throughout the year and hosts an
annual health screening at the state capitol; and
WHEREAS, LAHP extends sincere thanks to the following sponsors for their
generous support of this year's health fair at the capitol: Aetna, Amerigroup, AmeriHealth
Caritas Louisiana, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Humana, Louisiana Healthcare
Connections, Novo Nordisk, People's Health, UnitedHealthCare, and Vantage Health Plan.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Louisiana Association of Health Plans and does hereby recognize Tuesday,
May 5, 2015, as Louisiana Association of Health Plans Day at the state capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the chief executive officer and the members of the board of directors of the Louisiana
Association of Health Plans.
