GERMAIN COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority for more than forty years of service to the state 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2To commend the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority for more than forty years of service 3 to the state of Louisiana. 4 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority (LPFA) promotes, encourages, 5and furthers the accomplishment of all activities beneficial to the state of Louisiana; and 6 WHEREAS, the LPFA supports economic growth across the state by helping finance 7projects and programs that serve as engines for local and state economies; and 8 WHEREAS, the LPFA strives to further education, healthcare, economic 9development, and job creation in Louisiana; and 10 WHEREAS, since 1974, the LPFA has issued more than twenty billion dollars in 11bonds for nonprofit organizations and businesses; the LPFA plays a direct role in economic 12growth and job creation by providing qualifying entities with the means to receive tax- 13exempt financing to achieve interest cost savings; and 14 WHEREAS, LPFA has facilitated economic activities, leading to 7,512 jobs per year; 15and 16 WHEREAS, in addition to its work with public and private entities, the LPFA 17remains committed in making higher education accessible to Louisiana students through its 18education division, the Louisiana Education Loan Authority; and 19 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the efforts of the LPFA in making 20Louisiana a better place to live, work, and call home, and to congratulate the LPFA upon its 21forty years of service to the state of Louisiana.
