ENROLLED 2015 Regular Session HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 144 BY REPRESENTATIVE SMITH A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION To designate Tuesday, June 2, 2015, as Louisiana School Psychological Association Day at the state capitol and to commend the Louisiana School Psychological Association for its many contributions to students and schools throughout the state. WHEREAS, school psychologists help to increase the achievement of students and schools by addressing learning barriers and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning; and WHEREAS, since the early 1980s, the Louisiana School Psychological Association (LSPA) has provided counseling, instruction, mentoring, and behavior intervention support; and WHEREAS, LSPA and its members promote wellness and resilience by reinforcing communication and social skills, problem solving, anger management, self-regulation, self- determination, and optimism; LSPA also strives to promote the enhancement of understanding and acceptance of diverse cultures and backgrounds; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate to designate Tuesday, June 2, 2015, as Louisiana School Psychological Association Day at the state capitol and to commend the extraordinary efforts of LSPA as they support students and schools throughout the state of Louisiana. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Tuesday, June 2, 2015, as Louisiana School Psychological Association Day at the state capitol and does hereby commend the LSPA for its many contributions to students and schools throughout the state of Louisiana.
