BY REPRESENTATIVES ST. GERMAIN, BARROW, HILL, HODGES, JACKSON,
NANCY LANDRY, MORENO, NORTON, SMITH, STOKES, THIERRY,
WHITNEY, AND WOODRUFF AND SENATORS BROOME, BUFFINGTON,
DORSEY-COLOMB, AND PETERSON
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends Tiffany Amber Landry upon her receipt of a 2015
Women of Excellence Award and Scholarship from the Louisiana Legislative
Women's Caucus Foundation
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend Tiffany Amber Landry upon her receipt of a 2015 Women of Excellence
3 Award from the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation in the category
4 of High School Woman of Excellence and upon being a recipient of a Louisiana
5 Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation Scholarship.
6 WHEREAS, Tiffany Amber Landry is a senior at Fisher Middle-High School in
7Lafitte, Louisiana, where she has served as class president throughout her four years of high
8school; she has also served as publicist and treasurer of Student Council, secretary of the
9National Honor Society, vice president of Key Club, and is a member of the yearbook club,
10and a former member of the 4-H Club and volleyball team; and 
11 WHEREAS, Tiffany has a passion to serve and help others; she has implemented
12several service projects including Help for the Homeless backpacks, and as a National Honor
13Society member, she has worked closely with students who have learning disabilities; and
14 WHEREAS, she has donated countless hours to organizations such as Key Club,
15where she raised funds for projects such as The Eliminate Project, which focuses on
16eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus in third-world countries; and
17 WHEREAS, Tiffany has a passion for art and as a recognized artist, one of her
18paintings hung in the Cannon Tunnel of the United States Capitol Building in 2013; in

1addition to being a winner of the 2013 Congressional Art Competition and a Jefferson Parish
2Art Achievement Award, her artwork has been published in Celebrating Art books; and
3 WHEREAS, throughout her junior year in high school, Tiffany attended the New
4Orleans Center for Creative Arts full-time after school; she has shared her art talent with her
5school by creating graphic designs for class t-shirts, advertisements for various events, and
6yearbook page designs; and
7 WHEREAS, Tiffany is an exceptional high school student who has maintained a 4.72
8grade point average and is ranked first in her class; she has received various scholarships and
9awards, some of which include the Jefferson Parish Superintendent's Award, the Patrick F.
10Taylor Foundation Scholar Award every year of high school, and she has been on the
11Principal's List; and
12 WHEREAS, in the fall, Tiffany plans to attend Louisiana State University to double-
13major in business administration and graphic design; Tiffany hopes to become the chief
14executive officer of a Fortune 500 company and aspires to encourage and inspire young
15women to achieve their goals; and
16 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation created the
17Women of Excellence Awards to recognize and honor extraordinary women of excellence
18across the state for their outstanding achievements and contributions; and
19 WHEREAS, recipients of the Women of Excellence Awards exhibit characteristics
20of integrity and professionalism, personify excellence in their area of specialty, and are
21committed to community service to better society as a whole; and
22 WHEREAS, for 2015, there are six categories for the Women of Excellence Awards:
23Business, College Woman of Excellence, Health and Medicine, High School Woman of
24Excellence, Louisiana Hero of Excellence, and Nonprofit of Excellence; and
25 WHEREAS, the recipients of the 2015 Women of Excellence Awards are being
26recognized at the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation's Women of
27Excellence Awards Gala on Tuesday, May 26, 2015; and
28 WHEREAS, Tiffany Amber Landry has been named a recipient of a 2015 Women
29of Excellence Award in the category of High School Woman of Excellence and is also a
30recipient of a Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation Scholarship for her

1accomplishments and personification of excellence in integrity, character, academics,
2leadership, and community service; and
3 WHEREAS, Tiffany Amber Landry merits a sincere and heartfelt measure of
4commendation for her dedication to excellence and her outstanding accomplishments, and
5it is appropriate for the Legislature of Louisiana to commend Tiffany Amber Landry upon
6her receipt of a 2015 Women of Excellence Award from the Louisiana Legislative Women's
7Caucus Foundation and of a Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation Scholarship.
8 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
9commend Tiffany Amber Landry upon her receipt of a 2015 Women of Excellence Award
10from the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation in the category of High School
11Woman of Excellence and upon the receipt of a Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus
12Foundation Scholarship; does hereby recognize and record for posterity her singular
13contributions to the citizens of Louisiana; and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for
14the tremendous pride and honor she brings to her community and the state of Louisiana.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
16to Tiffany Amber Landry.
