HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 151
BY REPRESENTATIVES ST. GERMAIN, BARROW, HILL, HODGES, JACKSON,
NANCY LANDRY, MORENO, NORTON, SMITH, STOKES, THIERRY,
WHITNEY, AND WOODRUFF AND SENATORS BROOME, BUFFINGTON,
DORSEY-COLOMB, AND PETERSON
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends B. Ronnell Nolan, a Baton Rouge businesswoman, upon
her receipt of a 2015 Women of Excellence Award from the La. Legislative
Women's Caucus Foundation
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend B. Ronnell Nolan, a Baton Rouge businesswoman, upon her receipt of a 2015 
3 Women of Excellence Award from the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus 
4 Foundation for her achievements in the field of business.
5 WHEREAS, B. Ronnell Nolan is the founder of Health Agents for America,
6Incorporated (HAFA) and The Nolan Group; currently, she serves on the Louisiana
7Department of Insurance Agent Advisory Board; and
8 WHEREAS, Ms. Nolan received her Certified Health Care Reform Specialist
9designation in 2013; and serves on the Louisiana Health Care Commission; and
10 WHEREAS, Ms. Nolan obtained her health insurance associate certificate and serves
11as a consultant for the Medical Tourism Association International Healthcare Consumers
12Coalition; she is also a licensed life and health insurance agent and a licensed lobbyist; and
13 WHEREAS, among her many awards and accomplishments, Ms. Nolan was awarded
14the Influential Women in Employee Benefits by Employee Benefit Adviser; in May of 2014,
15she was the cover and feature story of the Employee Benefit Adviser, and she has often been
16quoted by the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, LifeHealthPro, BenefitsPro, Employee
17Benefit Adviser, the Advocate, and many other local media outlets in Louisiana; and

1brokers exclusively; currently, HAFA represents agents in twenty-six states; Ms. Nolan is
2the field organizer for Medicare Today and has participated in a grassroots effort to
3introduce, enroll, and educate seniors about Medicare Part D; and
4 WHEREAS, another notable achievement is that Ms. Nolan worked with Education
5Station to provide assistance to after-school programs for low-income children to help with
6their math and English skills; and 
7 WHEREAS, Ms. Nolan worked on several important pieces of legislation with
8former Senator Mary Landrieu including the 2179 Enhancing Access for Agents and Brokers
9Act and the S1729 Expanded Consumer Choice Act; currently, she is working with Senator
10Bill Cassidy to equalize the playing field for agents and brokers; and
11 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation created the
12Women of Excellence Awards to recognize and honor extraordinary women of excellence
13across the state for their outstanding achievements and contributions; and
14 WHEREAS, recipients of the Women of Excellence Awards exhibit characteristics
15of integrity and professionalism, personify excellence in their area of speciality, and are
16committed to community service to better society as a whole; and
17 WHEREAS, for 2015, there are six categories for the Women of Excellence Awards:
18Business, College Woman of Excellence, Health and Medicine, High School Woman of
19Excellence, Louisiana Hero of Excellence, and Non-profit of Excellence; and
20 WHEREAS, the recipients of the 2015 Women of Excellence Awards are being
21recognized at the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation's Women of
22Excellence Awards Gala on Tuesday, May 26, 2015; and
23 WHEREAS, B. Ronnell Nolan has been named a recipient of a 2015 Women of
24Excellence Award in the field of Business for her industry and accomplishments which
25demonstrate her business acumen; and
26 WHEREAS, Ms. Nolan merits a sincere and heartfelt measure of commendation for
27her dedication to excellence and her outstanding accomplishments, and it is appropriate for
28the Legislature of Louisiana to commend B. Ronnell Nolan upon her receipt of a 2015
29Women of Excellence Award from the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation
30and to recognize her vital contributions to the citizens of Louisiana.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
2commend B. Ronnell Nolan, a Baton Rouge businesswoman, upon her receipt of a 2015
3Women of Excellence Award from the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation
4for her achievements in the field of business; does hereby recognize and record for posterity
5her singular contributions to the citizens of Louisiana as an active and dedicated
6businesswoman; and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and
7honor that she brings to her community and the state of Louisiana.
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
9to B. Ronnell Nolan.
