COMMENDATIONS: Commends Florien High School baseball team upon winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class B state championship
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend the Florien High School baseball team upon winning the Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association Class B state championship on May 16, 2015.
4 WHEREAS, the Florien High School Blackcats completed an outstanding 2015
5season with a win over the Fairview High School Panthers in the championship game in
6Sulphur to emerge as the Class B baseball state champions; and
7 WHEREAS, the championship game was Florien High School's first state finals
8appearance in baseball; and
9 WHEREAS, Florien High School led an impressive 10-2 victory against Fairview
10High School in the championship game; and
11 WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest levels of excellence
12throughout the 2015 season, and each of these intrepid Blackcats deserves recognition for
13his vital contribution to the winning effort; and
14 WHEREAS, the Blackcats finished the 2015 season with a phenomenal record of 23-
156; and
16 WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana wishes to recognize the well-deserved title
17which the Florien High School Blackcats have earned, to commend the team for the ability
18they have displayed, particularly at the most difficult level of competition, and to express
19sincere and heartfelt congratulations to the team members and the coaching staff for the
20merits earned and the sportsmanship shown while achieving such a high honor for their
21school.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
2commend the Florien High School baseball team for winning the Louisiana High School
3Athletic Association Class B state baseball championship and for a truly spectacular season
4and does hereby recognize their outstanding performance and the distinguished pride and
5honor that they have brought to their school and community.
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
7to the head coach of the Florien High School baseball team.
