HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 33

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Neighborhood Development Foundation for its outstanding service to the
city of New Orleans.
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Development Foundation is one of New Orleans'
greatest success stories, and it is the key to a rewarding and productive life for many low
income and moderate income families; and
WHEREAS, since 1986, the Neighborhood Development Foundation has helped
thousands of families build assets that they can pass on to their children; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Development Foundation was founded on the belief
that affordable housing is essential to the physical and emotional health, productivity, and
self-esteem of individuals and that homeownership has a significant effect on children's
success; and
WHEREAS, for over twenty-five years, the Neighborhood Development Foundation
has provided education and advocacy that make owning and maintaining a home possible;
and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Development Foundation provides classroom
homeownership education in which participants receive valuable information and are able
to ask questions of mortgage industry professionals; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, March 28, 2015, the Neighborhood Development
Foundation celebrated its twentieth anniversary with a patron party and gala.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Neighborhood Development Foundation for its outstanding service to the city
of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana and does hereby, on the occasion of its twentieth
anniversary, recognize the significant effect the foundation has on helping thousands of
families become homeowners.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Neighborhood Development Foundation.
