HLS 15RS-1414 ORIGINAL 2015 Regular Session HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 53 BY REPRESENTATIVE COX COMMENDATIONS: Commends the DeSoto Parish School System for having the highest graduation rate in the state of Louisiana 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2To commend the DeSoto Parish School System for having the highest graduation rate in the 3 state of Louisiana. 4 WHEREAS, the DeSoto Parish School System has achieved a 94.5 percent 5graduation rate, according to the state Department of Education, which is nearly twenty 6points above the 74.6 percent average graduation rate of the state of Louisiana; and 7 WHEREAS, the DeSoto Parish School System has also been recognized as the state's 8leader in improvement over the last few years by graduating over fourteen percent more 9students today compared to three years ago; and 10 WHEREAS, the DeSoto Parish School System is committed to caring for its 11students, ensuring their learning, and celebrating their graduation as citizens who are 12prepared to transform their dreams into realities; and 13 WHEREAS, the exemplary performance of the DeSoto Parish School System reflects 14outstanding student achievement at the individual, school, and district levels; and 15 WHEREAS, the school district recognizes the value of the community, families, and 16educators working together to improve graduation outcomes for students in DeSoto Parish; 17and 18 WHEREAS, the DeSoto Parish School System merits a special measure of 19commendation for the pride and honor that it brings to the DeSoto Parish community and 20to the state of Louisiana.
