HCR 82 Engrossed 2015 Regular Session Leger
Directs the creation of the La. Justice Reinvestment Task Force comprising 14 members to evaluate,
analyze, and undertake a comprehensive review of the state's adult criminal justice system and, using
a data-driven approach, develop sentencing and corrections policy recommendations for legislative
consideration to reduce the prison population, provide better use of resources, and reduce recidivism.
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Administration of Criminal
Justice to the engrossed bill:
1. Add the chairman of the La. Sentencing Commission as a member of the La. Justice
Reinvestment Task Force.
2. Place the La. Justice Reinvestment Task Force under the jurisdiction of the La.
Sentencing Commission and the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections.
