HEALTH/HOME CARE:  Creates a study committee on family caregiving and long-term supports
Report adopts Senate amendments to:
1. Add the following members to the study committee:
(a)One member representing the HomeCare Association of Louisiana.
(b)One member representing the Louisiana Assisted Living Association.
(c)A representative from the LeadingAge Gulf States.
(d)The Louisiana Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
Report rejects Senate amendments which would have:
1. Added references to study committee member organizations in the segment of the resolution
providing for parties to which a copy of the resolution is to be transmitted.
Report amends the bill to:
1. Add the following members to the study committee:
(a)One member representing NAMI Louisiana.
(b)A caregiver appointed by the executive director of the Advocacy Center.
2. Make technical corrections in the names of study committee member organizations
LeadingAge Gulf States and the Louisiana-Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care
Organization. 3. Revise the segment of the resolution providing for parties to which a copy of the resolution
is to be transmitted to reflect the names of all study committee members.
Digest of the bill as proposed by the Conference Committee
Establishes a 21-member study committee on family caregiving and long-term supports and services,
and directs the committee to report recommendations for legislative and administrative actions to
support family caregivers to the legislative committees on health and welfare on or before Jan. 31,
2016.
