HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 1
BY REPRESENTATIVE BERTHELOT
COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Louisiana Airport Managers and Associates and
welcomes them to the state capitol
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Louisiana Airport Managers and Associates and to welcome them to the
3 state capitol.
4 WHEREAS, the purpose of the Louisiana Airport Managers and Association
5(LAMA) is to promote aviation and airport interests, to provide a medium for discussion by
6its members, to advocate for proper legislation for aviation and airports, to advise and
7provide consultants to members of the organization when requested, and to foster
8development of potential educational intern programs and scholarships; and
9 WHEREAS, LAMA holds quarterly meetings, annual conferences, and periodic
10workshops; the association has consistently been the best source of accurate information
11regarding the aviation industry, and it is often called upon by its members for verification
12of new data; and
13 WHEREAS, LAMA awards annual scholarships to outstanding aviation students
14enrolled at one of Louisiana's participating colleges and universities; and
15 WHEREAS, members of LAMA include airport executives, corporate aviation
16executives, consultants, vendors, suppliers, fixed base operators, and students in accredited
17aviation programs; and
18 WHEREAS, aviation is critical to the national transportation system and airports
19serve as critical infrastructure and major economic engines; and

1 WHEREAS, Louisiana is home to seven air carrier airports and sixty-two public use
2general aviation airports that produce a direct economic output of over six billion dollars and
3support over fifty-eight thousand jobs.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Louisiana Airport Managers and
6Associates; does hereby recognize LAMA's commitment to educational programs and
7scholarships in order to promote aviation and airport interests; and does hereby welcome its
8members to the state capitol.
9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
10to the president of the Louisiana Airport Managers and Association.
