COMMENDATIONS: Commends Casey Jones as the new head coach of the Wossman
High School boys' basketball team
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Casey Jones as the new head coach of the Wossman High School boys'
3 basketball team.
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements and distinguished
5career of Casey Jones upon being named the new head coach of the Wossman High School
6boys' basketball team; and
7 WHEREAS, Casey Jones is a graduate of Wossman High School and is most
8deserving upon his selection as the new head coach of the Wossman High School boys'
9basketball team; and
10 WHEREAS, Coach Jones was an assistant coach at Ouachita Parish High School
11prior to becoming the head coach; he coached at Ouachita Parish High School from 2001
12until 2010, and returned from 2011 until 2015; and
13 WHEREAS, during the years he spent as a highly effective coach at Ouachita Parish
14High School, he held a 386-99 record, won eleven district championships, won the 2009
15Class 4A state championship and the 2013 Class 5A state championship; he was also
16awarded the 2006 Louisiana Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year; and
17 WHEREAS, Coach Jones also coached at Longview High School in Texas from
182010 until 2011, where he held a 20-10 record; and
19 WHEREAS, with the support of his loving wife, Keshea, his sons, his daughter, and
20his mother, who is a longtime employee of Wossman High School, Coach Jones merits a

1special measure of commendation as he and his family are welcomed with great enthusiasm
2to Wossman High School.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
4Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Casey Jones upon being named the head
5coach of the Wossman High School boys' basketball team; does hereby recognize and record
6for posterity his outstanding accomplishments thus far as a renowned basketball coach; and
7does hereby express enduring appreciation to him for the tremendous pride, honor, and joy
8his arrival brings to Wossman High School.
9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
10to Casey Jones.
