HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 108

A RESOLUTION
To commend Casey Jones as the new head coach of the Wossman High School boys'
basketball team.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements and distinguished
career of Casey Jones upon being named the new head coach of the Wossman High School
boys' basketball team; and
WHEREAS, Casey Jones is a graduate of Wossman High School and is most
deserving upon his selection as the new head coach of the Wossman High School boys'
basketball team; and
WHEREAS, Coach Jones was an assistant coach at Ouachita Parish High School
prior to becoming the head coach; he coached at Ouachita Parish High School from 2001
until 2010, and returned from 2011 until 2015; and
WHEREAS, during the years he spent as a highly effective coach at Ouachita Parish
High School, he held a 386-99 record, won eleven district championships, won the 2009
Class 4A state championship and the 2013 Class 5A state championship; he was also
awarded the 2006 Louisiana Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Coach Jones also coached at Longview High School in Texas from
2010 until 2011, where he held a 20-10 record; and
WHEREAS, with the support of his loving wife, Keshea, his sons, his daughter, and
his mother, who is a longtime employee of Wossman High School, Coach Jones merits a
special measure of commendation as he and his family are welcomed with great enthusiasm
to Wossman High School.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Casey Jones upon being named the head
coach of the Wossman High School boys' basketball team; does hereby recognize and record
for posterity his outstanding accomplishments thus far as a renowned basketball coach; and
does hereby express enduring appreciation to him for the tremendous pride, honor, and joy
his arrival brings to Wossman High School.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Casey Jones.
