COMMENDATIONS: Commends Patrick "Pat" Williams, Sr., as the new co-defensive
coordinator and defensive line coach for the Wossman High School football team
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Patrick "Pat" Williams, Sr., as the new football co-defensive coordinator and
3 defensive line coach for the Wossman High School football team.
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements and distinguished
5career of Patrick "Pat" Williams, Sr., upon being named the new football co-defensive
6coordinator and defensive line coach for Wossman High School's football team; and
7 WHEREAS, Pat Williams is a 1992 graduate of Wossman High School, where he
8played football as a defensive lineman; he attended Navarro College and Northeastern
9Oklahoma A&M before finishing his college career at Texas A&M, where he was selected
10for the All-Southwest Conference; and
11 WHEREAS, he was signed by the Buffalo Bills in 1997, and he later became a three-
12time Pro Bowl selection, a second-team All-Pro in 2007, and the Ed Block Courage Award
13recipient in 2003; and
14 WHEREAS, in 2011, after a fourteen-year career in the National Football League
15(NFL) with the Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings, Mr. Williams briefly retired; in
162013, he signed a one-day contract with the Minnesota Vikings, and he finished his NFL
17career with a total of 566 tackles, 20.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and one interception;
18and
19 WHEREAS, prior to his selection as the new football co-defensive coordinator and
20defensive line coach for Wossman High School, Pat Williams was the defensive line coach
21at Sterlington High School during the past two football seasons; and

1 WHEREAS, Coach Williams merits a special measure of commendation as he is
2welcomed with great enthusiasm to Wossman High School.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
4Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Pat Williams upon being named the co-
5defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for the Wossman High School football team;
6does hereby recognize and record for posterity his outstanding accomplishments in his
7football career with the National Football League; and does hereby express enduring
8appreciation to him for the tremendous pride, honor, and joy his arrival brings to Wossman
9High School.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
11to Patrick "Pat" Williams, Sr.
