COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Regina
Ashford Barrow for her outstanding legislative service and recognizes her
contributions to her district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Regina Ashford Barrow and to express enduring gratitude for
3 her outstanding contributions to East Baton Rouge and West Baton Rouge Parishes
4 and the state of Louisiana, particularly during her tenure as a distinguished member
5 of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Regina Ashford Barrow is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2005, during which time she has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of her district and the state in an honorable
9and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, a graduate of East Ascension High School, Representative Barrow
11serves as the House vice chairwoman of the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus; and

1 WHEREAS, Representative Barrow has been a proud member of the Acadiana
2Delegation, the Capital Region Legislative Delegation, the Democratic Caucus, and the
3Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus; and
4 WHEREAS, Representative Barrow's diligent committee service has included
5serving as the chairwoman of the House Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural
6Affairs, vice chairwoman of the House Executive Committee, and vice chairwoman of the
7Special Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs, and she has served as a member of the
8House Committee on Health and Welfare, the House Committee on Ways and Means, the
9House Committee on Commerce, the House Committee on Education, the Legislative
10Bureau, and the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay; and
11 WHEREAS, during her time in the House of Representatives, Representative Barrow
12has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
13 WHEREAS, as she prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
14of her life, Representative Barrow merits a sincere measure of commendation for her
15singular contributions and the exemplary strides she has taken as an exceptional member of
16the Louisiana House of Representatives.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Regina Ashford Barrow; does
19hereby extend honor and recognition to her for her outstanding accomplishments,
20particularly during her tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which
21has been marked by her uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of her
22constituents in East Baton Rouge Parish and West Baton Rouge Parish and the citizens of
23the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to her for the generous and effective way
24in which she has dedicated her intelligence and her energy to the service of her family,
25friends, community, and state.
26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
27expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Barrow for her service to the citizens of
28Louisiana, as evidenced by her superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
29body, and hereby extends to her the best wishes of all her colleagues for continued prosperity
30and success in her future endeavors.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
2to the Honorable Regina Ashford Barrow.
