BY REPRESENTATIVES CARTER, FOIL, LEBAS, MIGUEZ, AND OURSO
COMMENDATIONS: Commends Robert William Desha Martin upon his receipt of the
National Eagle Scout Association's Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle
Scout Service Project of the Year Award
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Robert William Desha Martin upon his receipt of the National Eagle Scout
3 Association's Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project
4 of the Year Award.
5 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Robert William Desha Martin on the
6occasion of his receipt of the National Eagle Scout Association's Glenn A. and Melinda W.
7Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award; and
8 WHEREAS, the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service
9Project of the Year Award recognizes valuable service of an exceptional nature by a Scout
10to a religious institution, school, community, or other entity; and
11 WHEREAS, Robert William Desha Martin is a member of Boy Scout Troop 7,
12sponsored by St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and
13 WHEREAS, originally, Robert's service project, "Touch & See: Saluting Louisiana's
14Blind & Visually Impaired Veterans", was a project to raise funds for the placement of a
15bronze Braille American Flag at the War Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana; his
16fundraiser was so successful that he was able to place a bronze Braille American Flag at all
17five War Veterans Homes in the state of Louisiana; and
18 WHEREAS, Robert William Desha Martin merits a special measure of
19commendation for his outstanding service project and upon his receipt of the National Eagle

1Scout Association's Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project
2of the Year Award.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
4Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Robert William Desha Martin of Boy Scout
5Troop 7 upon his receipt of the National Eagle Scout Association's Glenn A. and Melinda
6W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award and does hereby
7recognize his dedication to improving the health and welfare of the citizens of Louisiana.
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
9to Robert William Desha Martin.
