BY REPRESENTATIVES MIKE JOHNSON AND HENRY B URNS
COMMENDATIONS: Commends Katie Walker, native of Bossier City, Louisiana, for her
performance in the film "8 Days"
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Katie Walker, a native of Bossier City, Louisiana, for her performance in 8
3 Days.
4 WHEREAS, 8 Days is the story of a teenage girl who attends a party, is drugged and
5raped, and is taken into the horrific world of human trafficking; and
6 WHEREAS, Katie Walker delivers an exceptional performance in the film, in which
7she plays the teenage girl's mother; and
8 WHEREAS, Ms. Walker is a native of Bossier City, Louisiana; she is a graduate of
9Airline High School and is the loving wife of Todd Walker, who is also a native of Bossier
10City and a graduate of Airline High School, a former LSU baseball player, and a ten-year
11major league baseball player; and
12 WHEREAS, proceeds from the film are given to anti-trafficking organizations to
13build and expand safe houses for survivors of human trafficking; and
14 WHEREAS, Ms. Walker has a passion to fight against human trafficking and through
15her love for acting, she is furthering her work to raise awareness of the fight against those
16who commit heinous crimes against young people.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Katie Walker, a native of Bossier City,
19Louisiana, for her performance in 8 Days and does hereby express to her sincere
20appreciation for the honor and esteem she has brought to Bossier City and the state of
21Louisiana through her inspired work in this unforgettable film.
